Nigeria to Send an Astronaut to Space Soon.

The Federal Government of Nigeria and the Space Exploration and Research Agency (SERA) domiciled in the United States of America (USA), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on human space flight missions, an agreement that will see a Nigerian land in space.

In a landmark event which held in Abuja, the MOU was signed between the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) and SERA, highlighting a collaborative effort to advance human space flight capabilities.

This partnership also aims to foster the development of critical technologies and infrastructure required for human missions beyond Earth.

The signing ceremony was supervised by the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji, underscoring the importance of this partnership for Nigeria’s burgeoning space program.

The Director General, National Space Research and Development Agency, Dr Mathew Adepoju, in his remarks noted that “This collaboration, which is coming to the country, marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s 25th anniversary of Space Exploration journey and opens new opportunities for scientific research and technological advancement.”
