Nigeria to Fast-Track Visa Processing to 48 Hours

The Federal Government is set to speed up visa processing for foreigners, aiming for a maximum 48-hour approval period.

Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, revealed this at a training session for 162 Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) officers on the E-visa system in Abuja. He emphasized that the initiative will boost economic activities and tourism while maintaining national security.

“Our goal is to ensure that visa applications are processed and approved electronically within 24 to 48 hours,” he said.

The Comptroller General of NIS, Kemi Nana-Nandap, assured that the trained officers would ensure a smooth and secure visa application process.
