The Registrar of the National Examinations Council (NECO), Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, has cautioned that examination malpractice could undermine Nigeria’s development.

Speaking at the 50th anniversary of Government Science Secondary School, Izom, he emphasized that the quality of education determines a nation’s progress.

He urged students, parents, and educators to uphold academic integrity, warning that “if we continue down this path, it will ruin individuals and the country as a whole.”

Wushishi also highlighted NECO’s role in maintaining credible assessments, having examined over 35 million Nigerians since its establishment in 1999.
