The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) announced that it confiscated drugs worth over N815 million in the Federal Capital Territory during 2024. Speaking in Abuja on Wednesday, FCT commander Kabir Tsakuwa revealed that a total of approximately 10,356 kg of illicit substances was seized over the year.
Tsakuwa detailed that the haul included more than 10,220 kg of cannabis sativa, 0.39 kg of cocaine, 19.19 kg of diazepam, and 3.60 kg of methamphetamine. Other substances captured during the operation were 5.73 kg of rohypnol, 104.29 kg of tramadol, 2.18 kg of pentazocine, 0.14 kg of ecstasy, and about 293 liters of codeine syrup.
The NDLEA continues its efforts to disrupt drug trafficking and safeguard public health in the FCT.
