NAF to Receive 49 New Aircraft by 2026

The Nigerian Air Force says it will receive 49 new aircraft before the end of 2026, including fighter jets and helicopters.

Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of Air Staff, revealed this on Wednesday in Abuja at the 2025 Aircraft Engineering Conference.

The aircraft include 3 CASA 295s, 10 AW-109 Trekker helicopters, 12 AH-1Z helicopters, and 24 M-346 fighter jets.

He added that NAF is targeting a 90% aircraft serviceability rate by the fourth quarter of 2025, up from the current 72%.

Themed “Enhancing Aircraft Serviceability in the NAF,” the conference focused on strengthening maintenance culture and building partnerships to improve efficiency.
