The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has adopted artificial intelligence and space technology to enhance its operations and adapt to modern warfare.
Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of Air Staff, disclosed this in Abuja during an International Colloquium held in collaboration with the Bradford AI Space Centre to mark NAF’s 61st anniversary.
He said over 70 personnel have been trained in space-related fields, both locally and abroad. He also praised President Tinubu’s support for Nigeria’s space ambitions, including new funding and the planned launch of four satellites.
According to Abubakar, these steps show the country’s commitment to using space innovation to improve security, intelligence, and national resilience.
The colloquium focused on how AI and space tech can strengthen NAF’s operational capabilities, especially in surveillance, resource management, and cyber warfare.
