The Niger State Government has confirmed that 207 people died and over 700 are still missing following the devastating flood in Mokwa.
Governor Umaru Bago, represented by his deputy, revealed the figures while receiving a condolence visit from Maj. Hamza Al-Mustapha’s delegation. He said over 400 homes were affected and more than 3,000 households displaced.
The government has begun documenting victims for relief support, promising at least ₦1 million for each affected family. Donations from groups like Veritas University have also started coming in.
