Troops of the Nigerian Army and Air Force have killed several armed bandits in Makakkari Forest, Zamfara State.
The coordinated attack, part of Operation Fasin Yamma, targeted over 400 fighters led by notorious commanders. According to military officials, the operation also destroyed multiple hideouts and seized weapons.
Security sources said the raid foiled planned assaults on nearby farming communities, a relief for residents who have endured months of attacks. The military vowed to sustain pressure on criminal gangs in the region.
