At least 26 people have died from suspected meningitis cases in Kebbi State, officials said.
The Commissioner for Health, Yanusa Ismail, said 248 suspected cases had been recorded in Gwandu, Aleiro, and Jega LGAs. He confirmed that isolation camps had been set up, and 11 samples were sent to Abuja for testing.
Residents were urged to avoid overcrowding, practice good hygiene, and seek medical help instead of self-medicating. Governor Nasir Idris has approved N30 million for drugs and other response measures.
