The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has raised alarm over an alleged attack by masquerades on a mosque and the Imam’s home in Oke Agbe, Akoko North, Ondo State.
According to MURIC, the incident happened last Thursday. The Imam’s wives and children were reportedly beaten during the invasion.
The group’s director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, described it as a “barbaric act” and called for arrests.
He also claimed the town’s monarch fined the victims — demanding goats, sheep, and kolanuts — for reacting during the attack.
MURIC says the attackers walked free, while the victims face threats of banishment.
The group urged the Ondo State Government to step in and stop what it called “growing persecution of Muslims in Yorubaland.”
