A 27-year-old man, Adekola Femi, has been arraigned before a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ado-Ekiti for allegedly stealing clothes valued at N150,000.
The police said the incident happened on May 24 around 8 a.m. within the Ado-Ekiti Magisterial District. According to the prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, the clothes were the property of one Alegbeleye Alaba.
Inspector Oriyomi told the court that the offence contravenes Section 302(1)(a) of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State, 2021.
The defendant’s lawyer, Barrister Stephen Alabi, pleaded with the court to grant his client bail. Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun granted bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety in like amount and adjourned the case to June 20 for further hearing.
