Luis Díaz Joins Bayern in £65.5m Move from Liverpool

Colombian winger Luis Díaz has officially left Liverpool to join Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in a deal worth £65.5 million, marking the end of his memorable three-and-a-half-year spell at Anfield.

Díaz, 28, signed a four-year contract with the German champions, describing his time in Liverpool as a “fulfilled duty” in a heartfelt message following the transfer. The move comes after growing speculation over his future, which saw him left out of Liverpool’s pre-season clash against AC Milan on Saturday.

Liverpool had initially turned down Bayern’s first offer of £58.6 million earlier this month, but later accepted the improved bid over the weekend. The agreement paved the way for Díaz to undergo a medical and finalise the switch.

Signed from FC Porto in January 2022 for an initial £37 million, Díaz made 148 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 41 goals. During his time under Jürgen Klopp, he played a key role in helping the Reds secure multiple trophies and earned admiration for his pace, creativity, and tireless work ethic.

His departure marks the latest chapter in Bayern’s summer rebuild, while for Liverpool, it signals the end of an era for one of their standout wide players.
