The former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has dismissed reports alleging that a cache of arms was found in his office, calling it “lies from the pit of hell.”
Obasa, who was impeached amid a leadership crisis, accused his detractors of spreading falsehoods to tarnish his reputation. “Their phantom evil story is devoid of logic and dead on arrival,” he said in a statement.
This comes after DSS operatives stormed the Assembly complex earlier this week, fueling speculations about power struggles within the House.
Meanwhile, current Speaker Mojisola Meranda has denied rumours of her resignation, while House Committee Chairman Ogundipe Stephen dismissed claims that 27 lawmakers were defecting to the Labour Party (LP), calling them “baseless and malicious.”
