Lekki Port to Generate $200bn in 45 Years

The Federal Government says the Lekki Deep Sea Port is expected to generate about $200 billion in revenue over the next 45 years.

Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, said the port would also create nearly 170,000 jobs and boost government earnings through taxes, duties, and royalties.

He explained that since operations began in April 2023, the port has helped reduce congestion in Lagos and improved Nigeria’s position as a logistics hub.

The minister noted that investments in road infrastructure are easing cargo movement, while the port’s world-class facilities and automation have restored investor confidence.

He added that Lekki Port serves as a model for trade growth in Nigeria, built on strong public–private partnerships, modern technology, and integrated transport links.
