The Lagos State Government says traffic congestion costs the state around N4 trillion every year.

Special Adviser to Governor Sanwo-Olu on Transportation, Sola Giwa, said this during a TVC News interview. He explained that from June 16, 2025, trucks entering Lagos must register and schedule their movement through an electronic call-up system.

The move targets tankers and trailers on the Lekki-Epe corridor and aims to reduce roadside parking and improve traffic flow. Giwa said the state has approved seven truck parks with facilities like toilets and electricity to support the plan.
