Lagos Faces 25-Day Power Outage

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) will begin maintenance on the Omotosho–Ikeja West 330kV transmission line from Monday, July 28 to Thursday, August 21, 2025.

The daily work, scheduled between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., may cause power outages and load shedding across parts of Lagos and nearby areas.

In a public notice on Friday, TCN said the planned outage could affect the electricity supply on its network. Though no specific locations were listed, the affected line is a key source of power to several communities.

The company apologised for the inconvenience and urged the public to bear with them, noting that the maintenance is aimed at strengthening grid reliability.
