The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has issued a warning to telecom operators, demanding a reversal of the 50% tariff hike by the end of February or face a nationwide shutdown.

NLC President Joe Ajaero announced that from Thursday, February 13, Nigerians should boycott MTN, Airtel, and Glo services daily between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. If the hike is not reversed, a full shutdown of telecom operations will begin on March 1.

The move follows MTN’s implementation of the tariff increase, despite an ongoing review by a government committee. The NLC condemned the decision as a betrayal of trust and urged Nigerians to unite against rising economic hardship.
