Kolmani River field is located between Bauchi and Gombe States in the Upper Benue, it has been estimated to hold about 1 billion barrels of crude oil reserve and 500 billion cubic feet of gas deposit. President Mohammad Buhari launched the Kolmani oil field on 22nd November 2022, what does this mean to the two northern states of Bauchi and Gombe, and where does Kolmani fall on the map? There are claims and counterclaims about who owns the Kolmani oil field. This documentary intends to find answers to the above title “Who owns Kolmani Oil”. This will require travelling to both states and interviewing stakeholders, community members, and experts who have been involved in the exploration process back in 2016 when it was first discovered.
