The ruling party in Kano state, New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), have announced the suspension of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Abdullahi Baffa Bichi and the commissioner of transportation, Muhammad Diggol over allegations bordering on abuse of power, office and disloyalty to the party. The chairman of the party in the state, Hashim Sulaiman Dungurawa, confirmed the news after an audio clip went viral alleging the suspension.
“We are announcing today that we have suspended the SSG Abdullahi Baffa Bichi and the commissioner of transportation, Muhammad Diggol over abuse of power, office and disloyalty to the party.
“We are commending the leadership of the party from their wards and the Local Government confirmed to us. They are all from Bichi north where they all came from for bringing the issue to us in written.
“In our capacity as leaders of the party, we sat and consider that this is the best decision to take until we are done investigation on the issue,” Dungurawa said.
“The party cannot tolerate actions that undermine its leadership and structure. After receiving formal complaint letters from their wards, and upon confirmation of the allegations by the local leadership, we have no other option but to take this decisive step,” he added.
The suspension comes a few moments after the Kano State Governor’s spokesman Sanusi Tofa announced that the state governor, Abba Yusuf has reconciled Baffa Bichi and the chairmanship candidate of Bichi Local Government, Hamza Sule Maifata
