Jigawa State has begun distributing bio-fortified maize and millet seeds to 30,000 farmers to fight malnutrition and improve crop resilience.

Governor Umar Namadi said the seeds, rich in vitamin A, iron, and zinc, will boost nutrition and yield. The initiative is part of the state’s wider farming reforms.

Farmers and partners like HarvestPlus praised the move, saying it comes at a critical time as climate change affects food quality and production.
