The United States Embassy in Riyadh was struck by two drones on Tuesday in an attack attributed to Iran.

Saudi officials said the unmanned aerial vehicles hit the diplomatic compound in the capital’s Diplomatic Quarter, causing a limited fire and minor structural damage. No casualties were immediately reported.

The embassy suspended routine and emergency consular services in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dhahran following the incident and instructed staff and visitors to shelter in place.

“Avoid the Embassy until further notice due to an attack on the facility,” the mission said in a statement, urging American citizens to maintain heightened security awareness.

Iran has not formally claimed responsibility for the strike. However, the attack comes amid intensifying hostilities in the region, including ongoing military exchanges involving Iranian and Israeli forces.

The US State Department also updated travel advisories across several Middle Eastern countries, citing serious security risks.

Non-emergency US government personnel were ordered to depart Iraq, while restrictions were placed on official movement in Baghdad.
Security analysts warn that attacks on diplomatic missions risk widening the conflict and could trigger further retaliatory measures.

Saudi Arabia has reinforced security around foreign missions in the kingdom, while US officials said they are closely monitoring developments.

The situation remains fluid, with regional and global leaders calling for restraint to prevent further escalation.
