Nigeria’s inflation rose to 24.23% in March, up from 23.18% in February, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

This marks the first increase since the bureau updated its inflation calculation method. Food and drinks contributed the most, alongside rising costs in transport, housing, health, and education.

Food inflation alone rose to 21.79% year-on-year. Items like garri, rice, pepper, honey, and potatoes saw significant price hikes.
