Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was briefly stopped from travelling at the Abuja airport on Thursday morning.
She was told her name was on a watch list but was later cleared to board her UK-bound flight after nearly an hour.
The Nigeria Immigration Service has not commented yet. The incident comes amid her ongoing row with the Senate leadership over her suspension and her sexual harassment claim against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, which he denies.
