The House of Representatives has passed four tax reform bills after extensive deliberations and public hearings.

The bills, which were sent by the Executive in October 2024, include:

  • Nigeria Tax Administration Bill (HB.1756)
  • Nigeria Revenue Service (Establishment) Bill (HB.1757)
  • Joint Revenue Board Bill (HB.1758)
  • Nigeria Tax Bill (HB.1759)

Following clause-by-clause consideration last Thursday, the bills went through the third reading on Tuesday.

The proposed reforms sparked debates and concerns across various groups and regions, prompting broader consultations. After a public hearing, lawmakers made adjustments, including amendments, deletions, and new sections before final passage.
