The governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Zulum, has alleged that the recent devastating, multiple bomb blasts that rocked the state was a result of those trying to scuttle his government’s resettlement plan of displaced persons.

Zulum made the statement while addressing newsmen on his return from a 28-days’ vacation that included a participation in the 2024 Hajj.

“What has happened in Gwoza was very unfortunate at this significant time when we are celebrating the exit of Boko Haram insurgency in Borno State, we witnessed a series of bomb attacks.

“I believe this is an act of sabotage, because at this time when we look forward to seeing how we shall resettle people back to their communities. I think some don’t like Borno State’s resettlement agenda,” he said.

The governor however reassured residents his administration is committed to tackle the insecurity challenge and also committed to help farmers through various development initiatives.

“We will ensure that we do more than what we did for the people of Bono State. I know there are challenges in Nigeria, especially the problem of food scarcity. But I think it is temporary,” Zulum said.
