Gunmen abducted retired NYSC Director-General, General Maharazu Tsiga, along with nine others, and have demanded a N250 million ransom for his release.
According to an anonymous family source, the ransom demand was communicated shortly after the incident, which took place around midnight on Wednesday in Katsina State.
Over 100 armed men reportedly stormed Tsiga’s residence, breaking down doors—an action that prompted the general to confront the attackers about their motives.
As of now, neither the army spokesman for the 17 Brigade in Katsina nor a police representative has responded to inquiries on the matter.
