Gunmen believed to be bandits targeted the mother and sister of Taraba State Governor Jumai Kefas along the Wukari-Kente road in Wukari Local Government Area.
The incident occurred yesterday, with one police escort firing a warning shot. Atsi Kefas was injured and treated at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Wukari before being flown to Abuja for further medical care.
The police are investigating the attackers’ identities, but no arrests have been made.
