Gunmen have abducted several travellers along Eleyin village near Isanlu-Isin in Kwara State.
The attack, which happened around 5:45 p.m. on Friday, involved two private vehicles blocked on the road and their occupants forced into the forest.
Kwara police spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the incident, saying two victims had been rescued through a joint operation with security forces and vigilantes.
She said efforts were ongoing to free the remaining victims and urged residents to remain calm and assist security agencies with credible information.
