Google, Microsoft, and TikTok removed nearly 59 million harmful posts and deactivated 13.5 million Nigerian accounts for violating online safety rules.

The Code of Practice 2024 Compliance Report, released by NCC, NITDA, and NBC, said the platforms also addressed 754,000 user complaints, with some posts later restored after appeals.

NITDA’s spokesperson, Hadiza Umar, said the reports mark progress in creating a safer online space, stressing the need for continued collaboration among regulators and industry players.
