At least five people have died and over 50 injured after floods swept through parts of Adamawa State early Sunday.
Heavy rainfall submerged homes and farmlands in areas like Yola Bye Pass, Yolde Pate, and Shagari Low Cost. Police have launched rescue efforts, and temporary shelters have been set up.
Deputy Governor Kaleptapwa Farauta said relief items are being distributed to affected families, and the government is assessing the full scale of damage.
The flood follows a recent federal alert warning 11 states, including Adamawa, of high flood risk this rainy season.
