At least five people were reportedly killed on Thursday while three others sustained varying degrees of injuries in a ghastly accident that happened between Agbede and Agbadu villages along the Lokoja-Kabba expressway in Kogi state.
The incident, it was gathered, occurred when two vehicles collided while one of them was attempting to overtake a truck.
The Kogi state commander of the federal road safety corp, (FRSC), Samuel Oyedeji, who confirmed the incident identified the two vehicles involved as a ford galaxy space wagon and a Mazda car.
“A Ford Galaxy space wagon and Mazda car collided, eight persons involved, leaving five dead and three others injured.
The two vehicles heading in opposite directions were said to have collided when one was trying to overtake a truck but met the other suddenly and collided with the one coming from the opposite direction,” he said
He added that of the eight persons involved in the accident, five dead while three sustained serious injuries.
