A fire outbreak on Wednesday gutted the studio section of Radio Nigeria, situated at Plot 35, Ikoyi Road, Lagos. The incident was tackled by a combined team of the Federal Fire Service and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.
Margaret Adeseye, Director of the Lagos fire service, stated that firefighters from Dolphin, Ebute Elefun, and Oba Oniru stations arrived swiftly but met the flames fully ablaze due to flammable materials in the studio.
The fire was confined to the studio area of the U-shaped, one-story building. Although the exact cause remains unknown, no casualties were reported. Authorities assured that damping operations are ongoing to prevent any reignition.
Adeseye emphasized that the collaboration among emergency responders, including the Nigerian Police, helped to control the situation effectively. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
