The federal government has called for adherence to global deportation protocols as 85 Nigerians in U.S. immigration camps await repatriation.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, made the appeal during a meeting with U.S. Ambassador Richard Mills Jr. in Abuja. She stressed the need for a dignified return process, allowing deportees time to manage their assets and minimize hardship on their families.
Ambassador Mills clarified that deportations would start with convicted criminals and those who violated U.S. immigration laws. The deportees will be returned to Lagos.
