The federal government says it plans to double Nigeria’s milk production from 700,000 to 1.4 million tonnes in five years.
Livestock Minister Idi Mukhtar Maiha said the move aims to reduce the $1.5 billion spent on dairy imports yearly and boost local jobs.
He urged youths to bring innovation—like mobile vet services and smart logistics—to the sector.
The minister spoke during World Milk Day in Abuja.
