The Federal Government has introduced the Nigeria Climate Investment Platform (NCIP) to raise $500 million for green projects across the country.
The platform aims to attract both local and international investors to support infrastructure, agriculture, and climate resilience initiatives.
Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, said the initiative will help Nigeria tap into global climate funds to grow the economy and improve export competitiveness.
NSIA’s Managing Director, Aminu Umar-Sadiq, highlighted the platform’s role in bringing new investments, while NCCC’s Director-General, Dr. Nkiruka Maduekwe, stressed the need for Nigeria to increase its access to international climate finance.
