The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has stated that it is not aware of an alleged N180 million fraud linked to the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) owned by social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).

In a video shared on Instagram on Friday, Otse alleged that his NGO’s account had been hacked, resulting in the loss of over N180 million. He claimed that a suspect had been arrested and the account frozen to prevent further unauthorized transactions.

However, when contacted for clarification on Saturday, the FCT Police Command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, said there was no record of the case within the command.

“The FCT Police Command is not aware of any case involving VDM’s missing funds and is not conducting any investigation into it,” Adeh said. “The individual in question should clarify where the matter was reported, as there is no record of such a case with the FCT Police Command.”

The allegations follow the launch of the Martins Vincent Otse Initiative, an NGO founded by VDM in October. The initiative quickly garnered significant financial support, including N35 million raised within hours of its launch and a notable N100 million contribution from music producer Michael Collins Ajereh, also known as Don Jazzy.

As of now, neither VDM nor any other authority has disclosed further details about the alleged fraud or ongoing investigations.
