FCT Police Debunk Viral Robbery Video.

The FCT police command said its aware of a video clip circulating online depicting a robbery incident that allegedly occurred in the federal capital territory involving a “right hand drive (RHD)” vehicle. The command’s public relations officer, SP Adeh Josephine, in a statement on Thursday said contrary to the narrative, the incident did not take place within the federal capital territory. According to her, upon meticulous analysis of the video, the command concluded the video was not recorded in Nigeria.

The police spokeswoman said Nigeria does not allow RHD vehicles on its roads neither are the roads fashioned to accommodate such cars as seen in the video.

She wrote, “the FCT Police Command is aware of a video clip circulating online depicting a robbery incident allegedly occurring in the Federal Capital Territory involving a “Right Hand Drive” vehicle. The Command wishes to clarify that contrary to the narrative, the incident did not take place within the Federal Capital Territory. Upon meticulous analysis of the video, it becomes evident that the robbery incident did not even occur in Nigeria. This conclusion is drawn from the vehicle registration number plate design and the steering position of the vehicle, which is Right Hand Drive (RHD). It is important to note that Nigeria does not allow RHD vehicles on its roads neither are the roads fashioned to accommodate such cars as seen in the video.’

The commissioner of police FCT, Benneth Igweh, therefore urged those circulating the video to desist from such actions as it may cause apprehension and unwarranted panic among the populace.
