Bello El-Rufai, House member for Kaduna North and son of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, supports an investigation into his father’s administration—provided it’s conducted with clear, unbiased intent. Speaking on BBC Hausa’s Mahangar Zamani, Bello stressed that while accountability is crucial, any probe must focus on uncovering facts rather than settling personal scores.
He noted that the ongoing rift between his father and Governor Uba Sani is being exaggerated and urged that investigations not be used as a political weapon. “If done for selfish reasons, such inquiries only harm progress,” Bello said.
Emphasizing his commitment to serving his constituents, he dismissed calls for him to mediate the dispute, stating that his priority is effective governance in Kaduna North. His remarks come amid a broader debate over political accountability in Kaduna State, with many calling for transparency and integrity in addressing past administrative shortcomings.
