Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC)and joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
In a statement titled “Onwards to the Future,” El-Rufai said the APC had strayed from its founding principles and no longer aligned with his values.
“I had hoped my values and those of the APC would remain aligned, but recent developments show otherwise,” he said.
He added that after consultations with his allies, he chose the SDP as a new platform to pursue progressive ideals and called on supporters to join him ahead of the 2027 elections.
