Eid-El-Fitr: Public Holiday Extended Till Thursday.

The federal government has announced an extra day extension to the previously announced two-day holiday to celebrate the Eid-El-Fitr.

The federal ministry of interior, through its permanent secretary, had earlier announced Tuesday and Wednesday as public holiday, but the crescent was not sighted in Saudi Arabia or by authorities in Nigeria, so, Ramadan enters day 30, on Tuesday.

In an updated announcement, the minister of interior, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, said “The Federal Government has approved Thursday 11th April 2024 as an additional public holiday to celebrate this year’s Eid-El-Fitr.” The statement was signed and released by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Aishetu Gogo Ndayako.

The statement, released on Tuesday morning, continued, “The Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji Ojo while congratulating the Muslim Ummah for a successful completion of a month of spiritual rejuvenation reiterates President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR firm commitment to providing a safe and prosperous Nigeria for all to thrive.”

Workers are expected back in office on Friday.
