Egypt has announced a plan to rebuild the war-torn Gaza Strip, emphasizing the need to preserve Palestinian rights and ensure they remain in their homeland.

In a statement released by its Foreign Ministry, Cairo reaffirmed its commitment to working with the U.S. to achieve a just and lasting peace in the region. It stressed that reconstruction efforts must align with the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights.

Egypt also reiterated its support for a two-state solution, stating that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel is the only path to lasting stability.

The announcement comes amid pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump, who recently proposed a controversial plan to relocate Gaza’s nearly two million residents and redevelop the area into a luxury coastal region. Trump suggested striking a deal with Egypt and Jordan to absorb displaced Palestinians, an idea both countries have firmly rejected.

While the proposal has drawn criticism from various international allies, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed support for Trump’s vision.
