A DSS witness told a Federal High Court in Abuja that former presidential aide Ahmad Gulak was killed by suspected IPOB members at a fake checkpoint in Imo in 2021. According to the witness, the attackers asked passengers to identify their tribe and speak Igbo. Gulak couldn’t, and after seeing a Muslim prayer mark on his forehead, they allegedly shot him.

The court also heard IPOB’s armed wing, ESN, was linked to over 170 deaths of security agents, and that leader Nnamdi Kanu smuggled in an unlicensed radio transmitter for Radio Biafra.
