DSS Arrests 10 Suspected Boko Haram Members in Osun

The Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended 10 individuals suspected to be members of Boko Haram and the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Ilesa, Osun State.

Mallam Olawale Rasheed, spokesperson for the Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, confirmed the arrests in a statement. He commended the DSS for their intelligence-driven operation and emphasized the state government’s commitment to supporting security agencies in safeguarding lives and property across Osun.

Governor Adeleke praised the proactive measures taken by the DSS, noting that the arrests are a significant step in maintaining peace and security. “This development is not only a relief to us as a government but also to the residents of Osun and Nigeria at large. It reassures us that our security forces are vigilant and capable of neutralizing potential threats,” the governor remarked.

The governor urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in their communities to the authorities. He assured the people of Osun that the state government will continue to collaborate with security agencies to ensure their safety.

“This operation demonstrates the importance of intelligence gathering and swift action in countering threats to our peace. We are confident in the ability of our security forces to sustain their efforts in protecting our people,” Governor Adeleke added.

The DSS has not yet provided further details about the suspects or their planned activities. Investigations are ongoing, and the authorities have pledged to ensure that justice is served.
