The Delta State College of Nursing Sciences, Agbor, has withdrawn a query issued to one of its students, Osato Edobor, over a viral video on social media.
The video, which showed students chanting anti-Remi Tinubu responses to a song meant to welcome the First Lady to the school, went viral on social media.
The school faced criticism online for issuing the query to Edobor, with prominent activists, including Omoyele Sowore, Deji Adeyanju, and Israel Joe, weighing in on the matter.
The Commissioner for Health in Delta State, Dr. Joseph Onajaeme, has intervened, stating that he instructed the withdrawal of the letter.
“I have instructed the provost to withdraw the letter. We don’t want to victimize any of the students. I have also reached out to the student [Osato Edobor], and she confirmed the letter was withdrawn,” Dr. Onajaeme said.
