Ali Bukar Dalori has taken over as the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Dalori’s assumption of office was confirmed on Monday during a meeting of the APC’s National Working Committee at the party headquarters in Abuja.
While Ganduje’s resignation was officially linked to health and personal reasons, party insiders say the move may be connected to early political manoeuvres ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sources told Trust TV that Ganduje’s resignation came after a top security official reportedly visited his residence around 2 a.m. on Friday to request the letter. “We didn’t see it coming,” said one party source.
It was also gathered that a sitting governor from the North East and a key political figure from the North West, both close to the presidency, visited Ganduje shortly after, possibly to show support.
