The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ogun 1 Area Command, has intercepted five Dane guns and 1,433 rounds of live cartridges during separate operations across the state.
Area Comptroller Godwin Otunla, who disclosed this on Wednesday at Idiroko while handing over the seized arms to the Nigeria Police, said the success was due to enhanced intelligence gathering, surveillance, and inter-agency collaboration.
He said the command also recorded a boost in revenue, rising from N10.6 million in April to N42.2 million in May. Other seizures in May included 1,037 parcels of cannabis, 13,125 litres of petrol, 2,627 bags of foreign rice, and multiple vehicles used for smuggling.
