The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ogun Area I Command, has seized over 3,100kg of cannabis sativa and 88 cartons of codeine syrup in a major anti-smuggling operation.
Area Controller Mohammed Salisu Shuaibu revealed that the seized contraband, along with other goods worth ₦279.6 million, was intercepted during intensified border patrols.
The confiscated drugs have been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further action. NDLEA’s Deputy Commander, Alex Chinonye, commended the Customs operatives and confirmed that the substances would be destroyed following legal procedures.
