CSO Protests at UN House, Demands Proof from Natasha

A civil society group, Women for Change Vanguard, staged a peaceful protest at the United Nations House in Abuja, demanding that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan provide concrete evidence to support her sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Led by Mrs. Irene Imoh, the group expressed concern over the impact of unverified accusations on public figures. “While accountability is key, allegations must be backed by credible evidence to avoid misuse,” Imoh stated.

The protesters carried placards with messages such as, “The burden of proof lies with the accuser” and “We stand with real victims, not false claims.” They submitted a petition to the UN, which was received by Senior Human Rights Advisor Adwoa Kufuor, who assured them that their concerns would be forwarded to senior officials.
