Court Stops Senate from Probing Natasha

Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court in Abuja has issued an order restraining the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions from conducting disciplinary proceedings against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

The ruling comes as the Senate committee is set to probe Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, following an altercation on the Senate floor.

Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central) was summoned to appear before the committee after a confrontation with Senate President Godswill Akpabio on February 20, regarding seat allocation.

The incident was later referred to the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions, the statutory in-house disciplinary committee of the upper legislative chamber.

However, in an interview on Arise TV, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan alleged that her ordeal in the Senate was due to her refusal to sexual advances from the Senate President.
