A Wuse Chief Magistrate’s Court in Abuja has ordered a 23-year-old dispatch rider, Victor Daniel, to clean the court premises for four days as punishment for stealing a company motorcycle.

Presiding Magistrate Ekpeyong Inyang said Daniel must clean the premises for three hours daily and also pay N750,000 in compensation to his employer, Mr Christian Maneke. If he fails to pay, he will serve seven months in prison.

Daniel, who pleaded guilty to the charge of conspiracy and theft, begged the court for mercy.

According to the prosecutor, Donatus Abah, Daniel was employed by Swifta Logistics Express Services Limited and given an Avatar motorcycle for deliveries. He reportedly conspired with one Timothy Jerry to sell the motorcycle for N400,000.
